FAQs

FAQ’s

Q:Do you make the shirts you sell?
Answer: We do not. We buy our shirts from professional manufacturers. Our shirts are very high quality silk screens or professional quality heat transfers. A license agreement is required for a company to make and sell T-shirts featuring a registered trademark or anyone else’s intellectual property. We buy most of our shirts from companies that have licensing agreements with the major studios.

Q: How does the currency conversion work?
Answer:Your credit card company will perform the currency conversion and charge you in your country’s currency.

Q: What does “junior” size mean?
Answer: Junior size means the item is meant to fit teenage girls and slim adult women. Many of our competitors do not even refer to their sizes as jr. sized, but they are selling the exact same items as us. Please refer to our size chart for approximate T shirt measurements. If you need exact measurements, please gives us a call at 843-916-1218 and we can provide you with that information.

Q: How do I wash my T-shirts?
Answer: shopretroactive.com is not responsible for bleeding or fading of colors due to washing of the shirts. We recommend soaking all T-shirts (including those bought anywhere, not just ours) in a salt water solution of 2 quarts water and 1/2 cup of salt. Any bleeding of colors in the wash is not the responsibility of shopretroactive.com. It is also best to remove shirts immediately from the washer in order to prevent bleeding of colors. We also recommend that all merchandise be hang dried.

Q: How do you calculate International taxes and duties?
Answer: At this time Retro Active only ships within the USA, including Alaska and Hawaii.

We do not estimate customs fees, taxes, duties, etc. The delivery of your order could be delayed due to customs processing. If your order does not arrive in a reasonable amount of time, you should check with your local customs office to see if they are holding the package for payment of fees. Also, some customs offices will send a separate invoice for your customs fees that could arrive several weeks after you receive your shipment.
Please be familiar with the customs charges in your country before you order.

Due to International shipping law/practices, we are unable to declare merchandise as “Gift” on customs forms.

Q: I saw something in your store, but I don’t see it on the web site, why not?
Answer: We are constantly adding items to our inventory, and are not always able to get them right on to the web site. Everything in the store is available for shipping. If you don’t see the item you are looking for, please give us a call at the store and we can do the order over the phone for you. On the other hand, some items are not seen on the site because they are limited in availability and we may have sold out of them. Our advice is always to “get it when you see it” because we can NOT always restock!

Q: I have a lot of old T shirts and other memorabilia that I saved from the 80’s, can you buy it from me?
Answer: At this time, we do not buy product from the general public. Everything we sell is officially licensed and we buy only from authorized manufacturers, for our protection and yours! We take great pride in NOT selling bootleg items.

Q: I am in a band from the 80’s, can we sell our merch in your store?
Answer: Most likely! We are always looking for unique items to offer our customers and we have a lot of demand for bands from the 80’s that do not have national licensing agreements. Right now, we work directly with bands such as LA Guns, Faster Pussycat, Steelheart & Jackyl. As long as you have the legal right to produce & sell the images etc please contact Amy L at 843-916-1218 and we will work something out.
